Many customers seek to purchase assemblies in place of individual components. It speeds their response to their own customers and streamlines their internal procurement activities. One of our assembly customers had been buying five different parts from three different vendors—with three different purchase orders—so they could produce a single assembly internally.

Our old approach is being taken to new lengths

For years, Fordsell Machine Products has been providing simple assembly services to its customers, but in the last couple of years, we developed more extensive capabilities. In addition, we took on several new projects involving rubber diaphragms, press fitting roll pins, Loctite™ installations and others. We have built our capability using new machinery and processes, but primarily through the commitment and skill of our people.

We have assembled parts in the past from so we have the experience but what is different now is that we are bringing this capability to the attention of our customers to solve their problems.

Since our success is their success, this benefits both parties. This has provided one customer the ability to reduce the number of purchase orders from three to one.
