Unattended operation pays
huge dividends for Fordsell customers.
Fordsell Machine Products has been running parts on its CNC machines without
operator intervention since 2001. This is a significant benefit to the customer
since it reduces their time from request of product to delivery of parts since
parts can be processed through the shop more rapidly. The other benefit to the
customer is a lower price point for our customer.
The challenge to the
Fordsell team is to distinguish which parts can be run unattended and which
ones cannot. This requires an analysis of the quality requirements of the
part and process’s demands to maintain those requirements. To date we have
several parts that run in this manner and we have consistently made the
appropriate choice in each case.
